L'Hermitage or L'Ermitage-Les-Bains is one of my favourite beaches in La Réunion. It's easy to get to from Saint Denis with the Car Jaune ligne O2, and has plenty of amenities; snack bars, restaurants, supermarket and souvenir and clothes shops.
On a Sunday it hosts a huge market, selling jewellery, clothes and souvenirs along with fresh produce. But my favourite thing about L'Hermitage is its beach which is covered by trees giving a nice amount of shade but also its bordered by a beautiful lagoon, making it safe to swim. In fact the lagoon makes it perfect for snorkelling, meaning it gets busy the majority of the time, but the beach is long and thin, so you do still get a fair amount of privacy.
