Though the national tile museum is a bit out of the way from the centre and the walk was a tad awkward, on a whole its a really lovely museum.
Its very chilled out, very pretty and rather interesting seeing the history of Lisboa through some tiles. It is located in an old monastery so also contains a chapel with magnificent golden decorations and the museums collections itself is the only of its kind in the world, containing a splendid array of tiles from as early as the 15th century.
The highlight of the museum is a blue and white composition of 1300 tiles, 23m (75ft) in length, of Lisbon's cityscape made in 1738, prior to the Great Earthquake, and reputedly the country's longest tile piece.
Tip: you can also bus using bus 794 from outside Santa Apolónia Station.
