Sagrada Familia:

The architecture of Barcelona has been most influenced by the work of Antoni Gaudí. One of Gaudí's greatest creations is the Sagrada Familia a giant Basilica that has been under construction since 1882. This building is the number one most visited attraction in Barcelona catering to over 2,000,000 visitors per year.

Once you enter the Sagrada Familia you can visit the museum which is housed in the building. The museum details the history and development of the Sagrada Familia and also gives fascinating insights into Gaudí himself.

This museum offers a truly fascinating visit because you will see photos of the development of the Sagrada Familia from the present day back to its early beginnings. There's also a model of the Sagrada Familia depicting what it will look like once it's completed (predicted to happen in the next 30 years).

Due to the high numbers of people that visit the Sagrada Familia this museum is one of the most visited and popular museums in Barcelona.

La Padrera / Casa Mila:

The building is the museum. La Pedrera is another of Gaudí's creations and is the 2nd most visited of the museums in Barcelona after the Sagrada Familia.

La Pedrera has to be one of the most unusual apartment building's ever built. At the time potential tenants were reluctant to hire the rooms because the walls were irregularly shaped and they were concerned that their furniture would not fit. Today La Pedrera is one of the most important museums in Barcelona and also houses renaissance drawings and a collection of modern art paintings.

Barcelona FC Museum:

FC Barcelona football club museum is the fourth most visited of the museums in Barcelona and has sporting artefacts from the club dating back 100 years. There are two types of admission fee. The first will give you access to the museum and the pitch area. If you buy the second type of ticket you will also get a guided tour of the changing rooms, press rooms, VIP lounge, and actually see the pitch at ground level. You'll also get a chance to sit on the players benches and see what it's like to sit in the best seats of the stadium.

Picasso Museum:

The museum has arranged Picasso's paintings in chronological order from his early days to his final works. Arranging the paintings in this way gives you a fascinating insight into the development of Picasso thinking over time and shows how he developed the distinctive designs that he is famous for today. Dalí Museum:

The Dalí museum is not in Barcelona but it's only a short train journey away. 1 hour 29 minutes (by car) in a small town called Figueres.Figueres was Dalí's home town and the museum is home to one of the largest collections of his work. Even the building itself is a work of art and like no other you would have seen before.

Museum d' Història de Catalunya:

If you're interested in learning more about the history of Catalunya this is one of the museums in Barcelona that will be of interest to you. It has many interesting exhibitions that deal with different periods of Catalunya's history. This museum has taken a proactive approach to displaying artefacts and has designed many exhibits that allow you to interact with the displays.
