Bassin la Paix

Today, we decided to take a trip to some waterfalls located in the east of the island. It was super easy to get there, just take the E2 bus from Saint-Denis bus station to the second from last stop, 'Rivière des Roches'.

Once off the bus, the walk took about an hour - all signposted though. We walked through the sugar cane fields, just like our trip to les Cascades de Niagara.

Once we arrived we were greeted to some amazing white water rafting style waterfalls. As we walked round we found the 'Bassin'. 50 metres tall and quite noisy, this waterfall was lovely to sit by whilst we ate our lunch. Unfortunately swimming is forbidden here however it was peaceful just appreciating the views, the cool rock formations (lol) and the bright green foliage.
