Today I took a boat trip to see the baleines à bosse (humpback whales), something that has been on my bucket list for a while. We got up early, bussed to l'hermitage and walked to Saint Gilles les Bains for the boat trip. It lasted an hour and a half and we were incredibly lucky to see many humpback whales in their element in such a short period of time (see below for a killer video).

Humpback whales are found in Reunion during the winter season because they migrate to these tropical waters to breed and give birth. They are magnificent mammals which I have always found fascinating, so seeing them here was something I'll never forget (lol how lame).
