This tropical paradise is full of fun things to do. From hiking the active volcano to chilling out on the beach, watching sunsets and boat trips with whales. I've compiled a list of my favourites to create this blog post; the top 12 things to do in Reunion Island. 12 things to do = 12 days!
The island itself is formed over 2 volcanoes, one active, Piton de la Fournaise and one extinct, Piton des Neiges, offering diverse landscapes right in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
Cascade des aigrettes
My favourite waterfall, with an adventure style walk and easy to get to via bus (an unusual feature since the island is better explored via car). This waterfall is liberating to swim in, and fun to find - not one to miss!

Piton de la Fournaise
The active volcano on the island, erupting several times a year. This crazy lunar landscape is possible to drive to and hike around. Cité de Volcan museum is also interesting providing information about past eruptions and the nature of the volcano.

Mafate
Hiking to this isolated village is an experience, suitable only for confident hikers and be sure to travel in a group!
